Due to the success of the first Next Gen road trip, Next Gen officer, Annlouise O’Brien has returned to visit Townsville, Prosperine, Mackay, Bundaberg and Northern New South Wales to chat with young farmers.
The Next Gen program is an industry funded organisation committed to harvesting and fostering the next generation of young farmers.
Don Murday, Chairman of the ACFA said that he is proud of the Next Gen program which has proved to be a success because It provides an opportunity for young farmers to shape their future by having a say in their industry.
Next Gen aims to get out on the road in regular four to six week intervals.
This latest road trip has been pushed forward to meet a demand identified during Next Gen’s last road trip which was an overwhelming success.
Next Gen officer, Annlouise O’Brien, accesses a vast number of sugar regions. She does this by driving to each region in a branded 4WD known as the ‘Cane Captiva’ which is how she provides the range of Next Gen services.
