Guy Cowan has been reappointed as QSL Chairman, extending his current tenure to 31 December 2020.
Mr Cowan first joined the QSL Board as a Non-Executive Director on 1 January 2009, before becoming Chairman on 1 January 2015.
Announcing Mr Cowan’s reappointment today, QSL Board Selection Committee Chair Peter Russo said that while Mr Cowan’s current term as Chairman was not scheduled to finish until 31 December this year, the Committee had felt it important to act early to avoid unnecessary speculation or distraction.
“Guy has successfully navigated QSL through a very tumultuous period and the Committee believes he is well-equipped to continue on with the job,” Mr Russo said.
“After a period of considerable industry upheaval and uncertainty, we feel that the experience and continuity of leadership that Guy provides will only help to promote stability and confidence in the wider Queensland sugar industry.”
Mr Cowan thanked the Board Selection Committee for their support and said he welcomed the opportunity to continue his work at the helm of Australia’s premier sugar marketer.
In addition to Mr Cowan, QSL’s Board comprises Sarah Scales (Non-Executive Director), Craig Doyle (Non-Executive Director) and Greg Beashel (Managing Director and CEO).
