Two new products from Advanced Nutrients have been successfully tested by farmers including Black Urea® as well as a range of granulated blends and the popular liquid solution, Bang P™.
Bundaberg cane grower, Brad Penny said he was impressed with the results of Bang P as the fertiliser is both simple to use and cost effective.
“No one likes trying new things on their crops, it can be a bit risky, but the results have been bang on the money,” he said.
“The fertiliser is a liquid so it didn’t burn the crop, but, most importantly it was actually cheaper to use compared to other fertilisers we’ve used in the past.
“It was pretty easy to use too. We applied it at the same time we were spraying for grubs so we did two jobs in one application.
The test results at Brad Penny’s farm showed a return of $23.65 for every dollar spent on Bang P as well as extra 12.3 tonnes per hectare from the sugar cane crop.
Stephen Ryan, General Manager of Australian Cane Farmers Association, said he was encouraged by growers’ willingness to trial innovative new techniques.
“Cane farmers trust Advanced Nutrient because of its commitment to research and development in the Black Range which has always been on the dollar for returns for the grower.
“It’s a success for farmers as the range of blends has been specifically formulated with grower input.
“The results really speak for themselves as there’s a marked improvement to the quality and quantity of cane farmers’ crops already,” Mr Ryan said.
Managing Director, Craig Salmon said Advanced Nutrients was committed to giving farmers choice, quality, service and support through their retail partners.
“The results farmers have had using Black Urea® speak for themselves, so replacing ordinary urea and DAP with Black Urea® and Black DAP™ will give the blends the added advantages of product efficiency and cost savings,” Mr Salmon said.
